With the install of Lync 2013, it puts and office version 15.0 subkey in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common that seems to have a different structure than previous versions of Office. The Contact Presence Indicator (jellybean) is missing from Outlook 2007, as the support for the old “messenger API’s” used by Office 2007 was dropped completely in Office 2013. Busy You’re busy and don’t want to be interrupted. Lync sets this status when you log off of your computer. If you have problems with the rollback then i would recommend, Remove the user from Lync Server 2013 and then after around 15 minutes Re-Enabling this user.

What worked for me: put above registry value from 2 to zero Restart Outlookback to 2 again. Skype was also an issue in my case. If I startup Lync 2013 instead, the presence indication no longer works in Outlook and is grayed out and disabled in Outlook options. You can do this by using the following Powershell Command. First, look at this location in the registry... [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers] It should show this ... "DefaultIMApp"="Lync" Then, check on the following two entries...
Did you integrate Exchange server with Lync server? You can also set this status when you want others to know you’re in your office even though the computer is idle.
