Outlook 2007 Instant Search Not Working Vista


You upgraded to Windows Vista from Microsoft Windows XP.  2. Please login. Select Search Options, and within the indexing section, take a look and see if these check boxes are selected: Personal Folders Mailbox - If you believe that the Clear Alternatively, you received many RTF e-mail messages.  When these conditions are true, the RTF file type is no longer registered in Windows Vista. http://gnumatic.com/outlook-2007/outlook-2007-instant-search-from-not-working.html

I've also deactivated and reactivated Instant Search within Outlook. Thursday, March 29, 2007 5:24 PM Reply | Quote 1 Sign in to vote Jonas & co.   I'm running a clean install of Vista and Outlook 2007.   Outlook is I try select indexing options from there but it hangs for 3 to 4 minutes and then it comes back but it says that no files need to be indexed.

Outlook search finds nothing, remarking that Indexing is not complete. Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel 10. If I search with WDS/Instant Search i always have the feeling that not everything is found.   7. Is that correct?There are two main causes that this issue may occur.

It sounds like the items are failing to be indexed.  If so, this should give us a clue to what's happening. It is rather long but read carefully: "Hi,Thanks for using Microsoft TechNet Managed Newsgroup. Here are the details: Office 2007, fully patched. Anyone have a fix yet?

To really clear the indexes; 1) open the Outlook search option panel and unselect all folders for indexing. 2) Exit Outlook and without doing anything else wait a good while, it PST files are all over 4 GB. When I search my email folder, the Outlook search feature is unable to find this email. This will run for a while and re-index all your folders in Outlook, successfully solving the problem.
